URC Vietnam is part of Universal Robina Corporation (URC), a food and beverage industry pioneer from the Philippines with 60 years of expertise and a strong presence across the ASEAN and Oceania regions. URC is the biggest subsidiary of JG Summit, a diversified Filipino conglomerate which ranks among Nikkei Asia Review’s Top 300 Asian companies.
In Vietnam, URC started operations in 2003 as a trading company with imported products. Soon after, its first plant was built in Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park, Binh Duong Province with 1 snack and 1 candy line. Today, the company has 5 plants across the country – 3 in Binh Duong, 1 in Quang Ngai and 1 in Hanoi. URC is delighting Vietnamese consumers with well-known brands such as ready-to-drink tea C2 and energy drink Rong Do for beverages, Cream-O, and Magic for biscuits, Dynamite for candies and Jack & Jill Jack Puff Corn and Chikki for snacks. Its products from Vietnam are also exported to countries such as the Philippines, Japan, Thailand, Korea, and Taiwan.
The success of URC’s ‘Made in Vietnam’ products is matched by the company’s unwavering focus on providing consumers with products of the highest quality. Quality and safety are firmly embedded in URC Vietnam’s operations, as reflected in the constant recertification of all URC factories in Binh Duong and Hanoi for the Quality Management System (QMS) ISO 9001:2008 and Environment Management System ISO 14001:2015 standards. Receiving these certifications means that the quality and environmental management processes that URC Vietnam applies in its operations are aligned with globally recognized standards. URC Vietnam’s VSIP 1 Beverage & Food Plant 1/2 & Hanoi Beverage Plant also received the FSSC 22000 Food Safety System Certification. The recent opening of a Central Laboratory further bolstered URC Vietnam’s dedication to quality. This specialized facility is equipped with the latest and most advanced testing technologies and manned by highly qualified analysts.
