URC VIETNAM IS HONOURED IN THE AWARD CEREMONY OF TOP 10 MOST REPUTABLE COMPANIES IN THE NON-ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE INDUSTRY IN 2020

On October 22nd, 2020, Vietnam Report Joint Stock Company (Vietnam Report), in collaboration with VietNamNet - Ministry of Information and Communications, held a ceremony to announce the Top 10 Most Reputable companies in the Food and Beverage - Retail - Packaging industry 2020. URC Vietnam, with 17-year operation in Vietnam, is honoured in the Top 10 Reputable Companies in The Non-alcoholic beverage industry in 2020.

This is a prestigious annual ranking in the Food and Beverage (F&B) sector published by Vietnam Report based on the independent research with three criteria: financial capacity, media reputation and targeted audience survey. This award represents URC Vietnam's efforts in achieving outstanding business results and providing the best products to meet the rising demand of Vietnamese consumers.

17 years of excellent business development in Vietnam

URC Vietnam is a member of Universal Robina Corporation (URC) – a company belongs to JG Summit Philippines – Top 300 Asian companies as ranked by Nikkei Asia Review. With more than 63 years of expertise across the ASEAN and Oceania regions, URC is the pioneer in food and beverage industry. In 2003, URC officially entered Vietnam market and then launched the C2 Ready-To-Drink tea in 2006.

In September 2020, four years after the Top 10 Most Reputable Brands Award was launched, URC Vietnam for the first time was honored in Top 10 Reputable Companies in Vietnam in the Non-alcoholic beverage industry amongst other global companies and domestic perennial brands. The award was evaluated based on a report analyzing specialization criteria*, which has shown the recognition and appreciation of Vietnamese professionals and consumers for URC Vietnam.

This achievement has recognized the effective and sustainable business operations of URC in Vietnam. With 05 manufacturing plants in Binh Duong, Quang Ngai and Ha Noi, URC Vietnam has applied cutting-edge technologies on its production lines, with rigorous management of quality and food safety that achieves world-class standards such as ISO 14001:2015, 45001:2018 for the Quality Management System and FSSC 22000:2005 for Food Safety Management System. The company also has an in-house central laboratory to serve for Research & Development, as well as new product application.

Currently, URC Vietnam offers a diverse product portfolio that include popular brands such as C2 Ready-To-Drink tea, Rong Do Energy Drinks, Cream-O & Magic Biscuits, Dynamite Candy... Especially, the C2 Ready-To-Drink tea is produced from natural tea leaves harvested from Vietnam’s highlands, and then produced and bottled on the same day to ensure the freshness and purity of the product. With a diversified product portfolio, URC Vietnam's revenue in recent years has always grown steadily at 12.5-14.5 percents.

In 2020, despite the impact of the COVID-19, URC Vietnam has still managed to maintain its product quality, as well as progressive R&D activities for the new products to meet with the new tastes and rising demands of Vietnamese consumers.

Uplift lives of local communities by the corporate social responsibility activities

Besides its excellent business operation which provides employments for more than 3,500 people and contributes significantly to the national budget, URC Vietnam also cares about social responsibility programs. In 2020, URC Vietnam was lauded amongst 33 (thirty-three) entities by National Fund for Vietnamese Children - under the Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs for their contributions in child care and protection across the country in the period 2015-2020. This year also marks the six consecutive years that URC Vietnam has accompanied Binh Duong province in offering scholarship for underprivileged children with excellent academic achievements.

During the pandemic outbreak which affected the people’s lives across the country, URC Vietnam also donated billions of VNDs and food and beverage products to support the front-line forces and the people to fight against the pandemic.

Commitment to Sustainable development

Sustainable development through sustainable economic growth, people and society advancement, environment protection are parts of the business strategy of JG Summit and URC.

In 2019, URC Vietnam was recognized as one of the Top 100 Sustainable Businesses in Vietnam by the CSI Award initiated by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI).

Regarding to the environmental protection activities, in June 2019, URC Vietnam joined as one of the founding members of the Vietnam Packaging Recycling Alliance (PRO Vietnam). In 2020, according to PRO Vietnam's action plan on changing perceptions about waste segregation and collection, URC has implemented the campaign "Save the environment together with URC Knights", aiming to influence junior high school students across Vietnam. The campaign was highly appreciated by many students and schools, with lots of positive feedback. Applying a new educational method through interactive activities and meaningful rewards, the campaign has encouraged the spirit of continuous learning and environmental protection in students.

Aligning with its sustainable development vision, URC Vietnam commits to implement more environmental awareness campaigns in the future, targeting to young generation and consumers through various activities with our partners and communities.
